About Jeanne
Jeanne Kraft was born in Philadelphia to Helen Jean (H. Jean) and Joseph Gallagher. Later, H. Jean divorced Joseph and changed her name as well as her two daughters' last name to Kraft which was a family name on H. Jean's father's side.
Jeanne moved around during her youth including Alberqueque, NM, Gainsville, FL, Bogata, Columbia, and El Cerito, CA before moving with her family to Wagontown, PA. There, they lived with her step father's family (Gritz) and soon after that, they moved into a house in Coatesville, PA.
Jeanne attended Coatesville Area High School (Clas of 1977) and was active in the band. She later attended Temple University (Class of 1981) and joined the band there, where she met both her future husbands.
After marrying Ken in 1996, She had a daughter, Grace in 1998. Jeanne and Ken adopted a daughter, Katie in 2004 to complete the family.
Between 1999 and 2010, Jeanne was battling cancer in one way or another. Sadly, she sucombed to the desease in August of 2010. At Sanctuary United Methodist Church there was a writer, Joyce Shultz, who wrote a book with Jeanne's story in it.
Jeanne's body is buried in Ardsley Burial Grounds, part of the Hillside Cemetery, in Abington, PA. Her Grandparents are also there. Read about her grave marker.
